Top trip with a great guide to make sure you really benefit. Near the Bakotu hotel there is the base for excellent bird watching guides. We went with Bakary Jarju who is so knowledgeable about every bird he pointed out. Took an hour canoe trip along Kotu Creek just by their base and saw 50+ different birds, especially the waders and similar in the mangroves. Also he led through the nature trail woodland to see and explain more. Highly recommended for a 2 hour trip. Best tip - start around 07:30-08:00 in the morning. It was so good we decided to do a longer trip the next day to Brufut Wood, to also see owls, nightjars, vultures and many more. He has an amazing ability to spot and identify birds - so much better than i would have managed on my own. Effectively he does private tours, rather than published £ trips, so can adapt to your needs - I think excellent value.
